Subject: RE: Top 10 worst tractors?

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
A 560 diesel is one of the better tractors that have done work on our farm IMO. Dad had three diesels and two gassers over the course of his farming career.

The one 560D that picked ALOT of sweet, seed, and field corn had well over 20,000 hours on it. Dad overhauled the motor once, did the head twice, a couple clutches, and one torque, but he was never in the rear end.

When a person had to pull the shift lever out to unstick the transmission after they forgot to pull the torque back before shifting and stuck it in two gears, it was easy to see the gears were getting wore pretty thin. The last several years it was around about all it did was pick rocks and run auger.

As a matter of fact, we never had any rear end issues on any of the four 560's we had around here.

All the 560's Dad had over the years were bought used so the rear ends must have had all the updates done before he bought them.

The worst tractor we ever had around here was a 1976 8630 John Deere. You want to talk about rear, and front end issues, can't forget to mention the issues with the frame, which caused a whole host of motor issues. The cab was nice for the times...kind of loud though.
