You have a twisted knife I’m guessing. They blow out dirt and don’t go deep enough in my opinion, as well as having more frozen dirt stick to them as well it seems . You need a sidemount style shank and knife. I run ours 6-8” deep and rarely have issues with gas escaping with closers. Wet ground that doesn’t fall back into place is the biggest issue.
