Southwest MN
Seth we will be trying whole soybeans in our ewe diets this winter just need to be careful total diet should not exceed 8% fat for sheep was told by the nutrionist no more than 1/2 a pound per day and .25# per feeding. He said to balance the use of soybeans by the fat content not by the protein he had said to add DDG's to get the extra protein when you reach max fat content or # of soybeans. I will probably never get to max soybeans 2 grain feedings a day is not going to work with the daily schedule. Until we get a automated feed line and drop boxes put in. With soybean meal at $280 a ton and corn at 3.02 the formulas I have found for making soybeans pay is $12.35 a bushel on beans or less is money in your pocket. I am happy to keep that $5.09 a bushel in my pocket.
Edit Math Error

Here is the link to the price comparison sheet.
