Faunsdale, AL
Feeding to cattle, most of the watch outs have already been listed. One addition is that grinding them before long term storage may result in rancidity problems. I ran a few through my hammermill to coarse grind them for dairy cows about once a week with no problems.

For monogastric animals like pigs, the tripsin inhibitors contained in the raw beans become important. Tripsin is the primary protein digesting enzyme in the stomach, so it is best to roast or extrude the beans hot/long enough to destroy that without binding a lot of the protein into the indigestible fiber.
