NW Missouri
The answer depends on the share of the crop the landlord is getting. "Here" if the share is 50/50, the LL pays 50% of all inputs, including the spray bill. If the share is 2/3, 1/3, the landlord pays no annual inputs. In either case, tile and lime are negotiable.

I've seen 50/50 rent discussions on here about whether the LL should have to pay half the spray bill, or only half of the chemical cost as the operator could have their own sprayer and apply it themselves. Around here the LL pays half of the spray bill, and if their operator has their own sprayer, then it's just a cost savings for the LL (on both app and chemical prices).

I've never heard of a LL paying for fertilizer in a 2/3, 1/3 scenario.
