If I was share cropping my ground and the tenant gave me the option I would probably pay for the chemical instead of allowing him to cultivate it.
I think today is different than 40 years ago when those unwritten rules were put in place. We are raising twice as much corn and seed corn hasn't really out paced inflation that much.
