Under law I thought abandoned railroad r.o.w. returns to owner. And like was mentioned above if you have been farming it for all these years you could also claim possession.
That’s the way it’s supposed to work here too but they are ignoring that. Even have a deed for one property that states the land is to be returned if the tracks are ever removed. that didn’t stop them from selling it to a company that plans to build solar panels along the old rail. The ground is unusable to me so I don’t really care about it but I do have a problem with their plan of installing fencing along the entire thing which will cut off wildlife |
