You are correct in the hospital does not take it as insurance. The difference is you file the paperwork for your loss to the company, not the hospital. You tell them you are self pay, then you get reimbursed by the ministry. Also they have brothers keeper which for $75 a year does give you unlimited coverage over the 1 million cap for cancer, nicu, etc.
