My wife is just now getting ready to sign up with Samaritan.  She and I have looked at several and she's talked to them some and also to our local hospital about them and we decided to go with Samaritan with the unlimited coverage up to $1million, I believe.  We also considered short term coverage which is also fairly affordable but our local hospital won't take it nor will her heart Dr.  The gov't plans aren't accepted by our local hospital and there aren't any other options here.  I'm hoping it will work out ok.  It's a shame our government has put us in this position but I've also discovered that most people that have health insurance through where they work or some group don't have a clue about what it is like for the self employed or how much it costs so they could care less.
