Let's not forget the tax right off that comes with them. And please find me something else that will pay for itself in 10-15 years and will give me a decent income after. Land is a fantasy to most of us to buy and at least after my barns are paid for I might be able to own some dirt. They aren't for everyone, but if you're looking to build equity and stay on the farm go for it.


Not saying barns are bad but abought anything will pay for itself and have good return after 15 years once you throw labor in.

Dirt cattle lot, tree spade, tile plow, custom tub grinder, dump truck, the list is endless.


That being said I know people who have returned to the farm because of pig sheds.
