That unloading system is engaged with an electric clutch, the shock load of the engagement when there is 300 bu. of 28%, or more, corn is going to be the test. Snap that belt with a full hopper of wet corn and then have to go get a replacement belt, which could be the next day, then try to get it unloaded.

Seems to me the belt would deal with the shock better than a chain

My thoughts aswell. Plenty trying to knock it before there is any evidence it won't work.

For anyone who wants to complain about being able to get a chain anywhere and not the belt, buy an extra and keep it on hand. I've got atleast one new unloader belt for my L2 (actually think I've got a second new spare since I forgot I already had a new one) PLUS every old one that wasn't destroyed but was still worn or cracked in the last 37 years hanging as spares. Never had to wait because the dealer didn't have the belt I needed. Problem solved
