Tekonsha, Michigan | I started farming in 2001 with almost nothing. I have burnt the candle at both ends working a town job and trying to farm and purchase land. My normal day is 4am to 7pm maybe a little less on the weekends but i am burnt out and have regrets. I don't regret farming at all I am so happy I was given a chance by a banker to get started but I do regret not taking more time off for my kids and family. Now I am 40 my kids are grown and gone, my dads at that age where he has trouble doing much. I worked so hard to get where i am today that I didn't realize life was passing me bye. I just hope that if you work long hours to try to take time off for whats means the most to you.
