Ne Nebraska | I have not run any of the combines you are looking at but if well maintained, should be good for your size. I'd look at how the operator maintained the equipment line as a whole to give you an idea. Other thought on combines is bigger size doesn't cost anymore on those older machines. A JD6620 or Gleaner L isn't going to cost anymore than the 4420 or F's and you have a lot more capacity for same $$. Parts might be more available on the bigger ones too.
I would comment on the head arrangement- I wouldn't worry about matching up with the planter that much unless you are an unusually bad planter driver....we ran a 5 row cornhead and 8 row planter for many years and only rarely had a problem with the guess rows. | |
