If you were a custom applicator, I sure would not tell my customers that because of the 4-foot overlap they will not be getting the correct rate per acre of chemical that they paid for. You would not be in business very long. I’ll pick guys with guidance and auto-boom any day over the one’s without it.

Now back to your situation. Are you getting good results with less then 1 pint per acre? That is what you’re actually getting because of the 4 foot of overlap. You’re doubling the rate on those acres, which means less of a rate for the other acres. If it’s working for you then why not eliminate the 4-foot overlap and apply correctly, the cut rate of chemical. Wouldn’t you then be applying less total product for the field, thus helping to pay for the auto-guidance?
