I think you are on to it. I never even wanted rup corn in the first place. I tried two foliar post products to try and green a damaged corn field back up. One had Mn and the other had Zn, neither really helped at all. What I have come up with is avoiding high rates of rup on dense weed or crop canopies when soils are very dry. The effects of that combination appear to be very harmful to rr crops.
