| I am only cow/calf but this past winter we left cows on some stalk fields longer than we had feed available, because there was a good water source. We were taking them ground hay every day for the last while I guess, don't remember when we started. We have now moved the cows home, and it saves a ton of time on chores. I would look hard into a feed truck. How would or could a truck benefit what your doing now? Any other lots around that you could pick up in a few years since your traveling anyway. I would also try to feed at max capacity so you can spread your time and cost over more head. If your going up there feeding 250 or 350 probably doesn't take a lot more time. (assuming they are started and doing well) | |
