Beresford, SD | Back in 1996 I rented a Cargill unit for hogs 5 miles from my home place, felt like all I did was drive back and forth that summer. If you are maxed out at your feedlot and don't want to spend a lot of money............Get a bunch of turned tractor tires, Hot wire, stock tank and hydrant (Maybe $1500 invested) and run them out in the field 5-6 months out of the year and cut numbers when crops are growing. In a few years you'll be adding the yards you desire and have saved all the headaches and money of trying to manage another location. My experience is when you have stock away from your home place......things go wrong. JMO | |
