2004 built dbl-10 (expandable to dbl-15) parallel parlor, air crowd gate, simple ATOs small office ,bathroom, utility room and milkhouse all with in-floor heat, moved our 3000 gal BT into it. Also 12x80 breezeway and 114'x264' steel frame six-row freestall (320 stalls) with scrapers, gravity feed manure to 400,000n gallon concrete storage, matresses in freestall. Included all site prep, 2200' gravel based driveway, well+plumbing, electric service, also 100x100 asphalt pad for CS. Did it for about 1.1 million. Did several additions over next five years, prices on EVERYTHING went up drastically; especially steel prices. Got good deals on a lot of the stuff; barn frame, loops, gates, lock-ups, mattresses, curtains etc all came from Norbco only half hour away, they didn't have any steel frame barns in NY at the time, they tried a lot of new stuff in our barn.


Holy cow I'd say. But that's 10 years ago too. What do you feel the advantage to a steel building is
