Maybe you need to put up some more pictures of the hay you put up this spring for the first couple cuttings. Judging a farmer by net income means a whole lot more than how they get to that point. Sometimes you have to spend more to make more. I doubt Jay would be here to tell about plowing if it wasn't working for him.

Growing up in the midwest, there are some tillage practices in this valley I don't agree with from a soil perspective. But I can plow a lot of ground compared to the $2000+ per acre cost to put in a center pivot with solid set for the same field. We plow less every year, but the old 4 bottom roll-over will probably hang around alot longer than I wish it would.
