| That's right, we can argue about thresholds all day long, but it is against everything that is IPM to spray just because you were already going to be in the field and may have insect problems later on.
There may be an advantage to spraying insecticide and fungicide combinations when we do not see any symptoms of problems, but how long will that advantage last? We will just select for pests that survive that treatment and make matters worse in the long run becuase now we have selected for tolerant/resistant pests that are more difficult to control when they do reach ET levels. | |
