| Just a year or two ago reps were reporting fungicides affected yields randomly. From 5 bu (beans) loss to 15 gain with most in the -5 to +5 range. Then the honest reps would say they looked promising but they didn't want to recommend them because of the significant chances of no gain or an actual loss in production. I guess now, the loss results have been forgotten, and the push is on to sell... So far Pele Pedersen at Iowa State says no detected benefit. Isn't the detected benefit highest in the southern US with higher temperatures and a longer growing season? Could the benefits vary according to the breeding of the bean, something in the long season varieties being more susceptible to fungi?
