Dry side of Oregon
The instrument is designed to operate between -20 and +40 C. When mounted on a combine, we still recommend mounting the electronics box in the cab to give it a more consistent temperature to operate in. The tethered probe is placed in the flowing grain stream of the auger and is not affected by temperature. During the instrument's burn in cycle, we operate it through several temperature cycles. We normally see some variation in predicted protein content over the operating range however it is within our 0.5% tolerance.
