Southern MB
We have been doing soil sampleing ever year but nothing in the way of grid sampleing which would not be that hard to implement.

As of this moment we do not have a yield monitor on either of the combines but have talked to a few people who don't but also are doing variable rate. Seems that these guys are using sat images like NDVI and what not to determine zones in their fields based on these NDVI images then soil sampleing based on that. As an example one guy said he broke 99% of his fields down into 4 seperate zones and changed his rates amongst the 4 zones. The one guy said he did not bother with the yield monitor as he figured he could not count on the data as being usable. Not sure exactly why as I never got into it but he has 8000 acres so I assumed he had a good reason.

So I figure if I actually went ahead with this idea I would likely just base it off of sat images and soil sampleing unless I can come up with something better!!
