The more I see people working for someone else, the more I love my job. Taxes eat them alive, and in the end all they have is there 401k which is invested in somebody else's hands. My biz is my 401k.

If you start dairying, milk the cow for all its worth. The more milk you can ship the better. Buy springing heifers, not old cows, even if they are giving more milk. The heifers will breed right back and last longer. Never understood why people pay more money for a half wore out cow.

But since capital is limited, concentrate on cows and milk production. May have to not raise any heifers for a few years, or farm it out to someone. But be careful....I raised no heifers when I started and got into the trap of not buying enough replacements each month. Then the milk tank would go down, really hurt. If you are gonna buy replacements budget for them and buy them every month weather you have the money or not.
