Southern IL | I have been raised on a farm all my life, I also work in town, I am an ER nurse, working night shift. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but get tired of dealing with the public and how the can manipulate you, there are lots of great people I meet and care for everyday, but sad fact is, our society is going down hill fast, they have a "you owe me" attitude. Working off farm is tough, planning days around farm work, is difficult, have to even use vacation time sometime to farm. But it is all worth it, when I smell that diesel and dirt, and see those pretty girls out on pasture. I would love to farm full time, but with the BTO's its hard to pick up much new ground around me. If you can do it....go for it, don't look back, use sound financial decisions, drive older vehicles and just be happy. | |
