Subject: Traffic ticket: show up in court or pay up?

NE OH
I got pulled over last week by the Highway Patrol while hauling soybeans. After he brought out the portable scales and weighed me he gave me a ticket for 6500# over on an axle.

So...today I call the number on the ticket to find out how much I owe. The lady says that the Patrol hasn't dropped off tickets yet. She then asked me what the Patrol put on the ticket for a court date. I told her February 7, 2013. She told me "that's funny there's no traffic court that day". I told her then maybe I should just show up that day then. She didn't respond.

What do you folks think? Just pay it or show up when the Patrol told me to.
