Hi Dan. I agree that for someone like you, aluminum is the way to go. The big difference is that some small timers like me only use a stock trailer a couple times a year, almost never in winter, and almost always for under 6 large cows. Steel makes sense for some of us, especially one like a Corn Pro that has a good paint job, good heavy wood floors and a price less than half of a similar size aluminum. I have been to the processors where another small timer is bringing in one steer in a shiney new aluminum trailer.... I don't really care if I see a few rust spots on mine in 5 years as long as it is still safe and serviceable. Personally I would rather buy a Corn Pro steel for my occasional use and put the difference into buying a bull or more cows rather than having an aluminum trailer parked on the edge of the woods for 360 days a year.
