I will add another to the "get aluminum" chorus. I had 3 different H&S steel ones, then a low-priced steel gooseneck, then a Corn Pro, and they all rusted. One of the H&S's had rust holes clean through in less than 2 years.
Bought a Featherlite aluminum gooseneck in '03, still looks good. Aluminum is a long-term investment, steel is an operating cost.
