Check with your agro professors if any farmers are looking for help. Sometimes a few farmers might let them know they need farm help. Also I saw a couple ads on the bulletin boards around our campus looking for farm help before.

Another option is to get all your projects and homework done during the week and drive back to the farm on the weekends. This is what a lot of my friends would do. My freshmen year I only had a 65 mile drive back to the farm, but some of my buddies would drive almost 200 miles one way every weekend during harvest.
