ECIL | We've tried everything over the years, and different people have differnent ideas on how to set things. The Macdon is such a different beast than a 1020, so you have to do what works for you. I do know if you let the drum have maxium up and down movement, that you can introduce a lot of flex into the system. The bottom drum on an IH will tilt sideways if you let it. It's my experence that over time it's hard on the bearings and the arms holding the drum, and even keeping feeder chains tight, but thats my experience and is certainly not the gospel. 1020's are prone to slug feeding, and the drapers are not, that may make a big difference on how you set things. | |
