Subject: Is the chopper my problem on the 2577?

North East Kansas
I was wondering if anyone is running a 30 foot flex head on a 2377 or 2577? We are running a 30 foot flex draper on a 2577. We can only run 2.8 to 3.5 mph in thick but not green soybeans. We were hoping for more. Do you think our engine has a loss of power? We thought that maybe the chopper was taking too much horsepower. We are running the chopper on high speed and we are running in the medium cut position. It is pulverizing the straw. Can we gain some horsepower by running in the course cut position, or should we be running the chopper on slow speed? I would appreciate any thoughts. We have been rained out for a few days and I am wanting to be as productive as we can when we get back into the field.

Thanks,

Steve
