| I kinda got into a little arguement with my heart failure management nurse over my water pills. I slacked off on the bumetinide dose after I went below 190 lbs. In the past I know from experience what losing too much water too fast can do as to causing excruciation leg and foot cramps. I have had some minor ones that wake me out of a sound sleep. They usually quickly go away if I get out of bed and walk it off through the house a couple times.
Used to be drs would prescribe quinine sulfate for leg and foot cramps. Quinine sulfate has been taken off the market for that purpose because it can cause nasty cardiac side effects. I still have a full bottle of quinine sulfate from the hospital pharmacy that was prescribed by an internal medicine dr I used to see. It was prescribed in December 2000. Don't know if the stuff goes bad or not. It is in capsule form and appears visually OK. So far I haven't been desperate enough to use it. | |
