| We didn't go new stick built but decided to remodel the old farmhouse on our place. I debated for sometime about it. We thought about just tearing it down and buying a modular but decided to go ahead and completely remodel and add onto the old farmhouse here. Hindsight is 20/20 but I would never do it like this again. We looked at several modular builders and I would do it in a heartbeat. The time to go from start to finish is so much shorter and so much less of a nightmare as it was dealing with various contractors as we did our house. The saving grace is the way tax our house is cheaper than it would be for a new modular. There was also some savings in remodeling versus buying all new but for the savings it will get us over my lifetime is not worth the hassle we went through. I told the wife after we got through that never again. | |
