North Central Illinois | I'll bet you didn't need to be taken out to the barn more than a couple of times did you? Kids usually learn pretty quick. The experts nowadays tell us a child should never fear a parent. Well, my dad has told me since I've grown up that in the child parent relationship a little bit of fear is a very good thing. The key word there is "little". A child should very rarely fear their parents but they need to know there are serious consequences for serious behavior. They should only need to experience it once or twice but the picture of dad taking off his belt or mom holding her hairbrush should always be fresh enough in the back of a child's mind to stop really serious behavior. | |
