I agree with cattle feeder totally, this is the whole point of raising both livestock and crops is to make more money by hauling your corn with a livestock pot or a milk tanker than a grain trailer. I always put a full price on my corn before i put it in projections for the cattle, if there is a profit ill do it otherwise i wait a bit. if i have to sell it for half price to feed i might as well haul it to town and not worry about chores. I track it as the cattle operation is writing a check to the corn operation for the feed. why do it otherwise? I do understand you have to keep dairy running during price swings but the whole point should be value added.
