Faunsdale, AL | Take your cues from the heifer. If she stays upright with her legs in normal "cow lying down" position, keep on nursing her. If she crawls around on the ground, still keeping her legs under herself, you're getting there, keep on. On the other hand if she can't keep her legs in normal positions, can't stay upright etc, I don't keep on for more than a day or two.
You need a good place, dirt is best with either grass or shavings/bedding on it and cover from the elements. | |
