This has to be one of the very few times that living in California has its advantages. Here, if the pickup is still a pick up, Meaning that has the factory pick up box on it, they do not want you to stop at the scales. I think, that there are some interstate commerce rules that apply to when a license or requirement is met in your home state, that other states have to abide by it. For example one should not be allowed to drive a vehicle with a regular license in one state, and then travel to a bordering state and be required to have a CDL.
