East Central Iowa | Your right on the officers not all knowing all the rules, or it seems like it. Sometimes that bennefits the truck driver because the officer missed something to write a ticket for.
The stuff i quoted above are federal regulations which apply in all states. The only thing each state can do individually is to exempt intrastate people from things. Like in Iowa, farmers are exempted from certain things if you stay in Iowa. But, once you cross that state line or even go across and get caught coming back, you are interstate and everything applies, per the Federal Regs.
So hang on to your but if you get caught.
I have heard some states enforce some things more than other states. I'm sure politics etc makes things that are enforcement prioritys vary form state to state even though the Fed Regs apply in all states. | |
