I was stopped by MODOT one time while driving my IH 1800 with a 16 ft. flatbed (grain bed w/o sideboards). I asked that very question about my truck, since it was obvious I was empty. The officer told me that anything licensed over 30K lbs. was required to stop, empty or loaded. Being a pickup with a stock trailer, I'd keep on truckin'.
