Hastings, Florida | Senior year of high school, a bunch of us boys were in the FFA barn, skipping class. I had several packs of firecrackers, and was lighting them and throwing them. The Ag teacher heard the noise, and walked out of the classroom to investigate. I was in the process of lighting a pack, when he came around the corner. Thinking I had not ignited the fuse, I stuffed the pack into my coverall front pocket and started walking away. The darn thing had been lit, and it started popping in my pocket. I started dancing around, trying to get my coveralls off .Luckily I had on jeans under the thick coveralls, and it barely burned me. The boys went to hooting and hollering, and the teacher just shook his head and walked away laughing. | |
