Subject: RE: WAAS reception east of Maine

Fargo, ND
Thank you for all the input. I will pass this onto my customer. He has all the WAAS satellites turned on for now. Maybe we should go to only the 135 satellite.

His first problem with the EZ-Guide 500 was getting WAAS.

The next problem was that the screen went red and the lightbar locked up while doing a headland with too many circuits. Every time he turned it on after that it went to the red screen. Trimble support solved that problem quickly. The customer needed to upgrade to frimware V1.01 which just been released. Next we learned how to do a soft reset on the "500" so the customer could get it running to install the firmware. (Press the top two left side buttons then power the unit up.)

Last week he had a problem picking up GPS satellites. He only got three instead of the usual nine. I had him clean off the antenna which he has mounted on his drill instead of on the tractor cab. I think that got him going again.

Hopefully this will help out some of the other EZ-Guide 500 owners out there.
