Apparently this savage creature pictured, the Mourning Dove, has been terrorizing Iowa so much that the last resort that the Iowa Legislature had was to subject it to open season. This brutish bird, which shares nesting responsibilities with its partner to care for its young, is such a menace to the citizens of Iowa that the only other reasonable attempt to deal with it is to let people blast away at it with a shotgun.
