Subject: Re: cutting a hole in a old gas/fuel barrel

NW Ohio,near Findlay
NRJessup, my father-in-law operated a gas tank repair shop ,did the thing with filling the tank with carbon monoxide from a running gas motor all the time, never blew a tank, sure cleaned out the guys sitting around drinking beer. Once in a while on a rusty gas tank that he couldn't get off machine or just didn't want to spend the time filling it with water or carbon monoxide, he used a cane fishing pole to wave the torch over the hole, Stand around the corner, if it blew he would tell customer tank was not good, if it didn't he would fix it. Lost lots of windows in shop, lots of poles, entertaining, he's gone now, but didn't die from fixing tanks.
