Subject: Re: pioneer vrs dekalb

Saronville NE
Had D49 this year that was very good, Field avg was 245. Had 61-69 in plot was around 219, 63-84 won the plot at 229. Dekalb was a little drier, but plant health wasnt as good. I ordered all P again for next yr. Had that short season 35F40 on dryland COC was 120 and corn on wheat stubble was 160, and we were very dry here. I priced Dekalb it was $30-40 a bag higher after discounts then my Pioneer was so would have to yield bout 4 bu better to compete with the Pioneer. Dekalb would pry be a little drier though. Im not a big Monsanto fan though and they dont have the cheap financing like Pionner does either, and that helps me out a bunch another reason we plant Pioneer.
