I will probably go with beans this first year as I won't have near as much tied up in inputs and probably won't have it burned down as well as I would like by corn planting time. I do like the idea of atrazine on the fescue, though. And the rough ground/bean head factor is something to think about, too. Sounds like everyone's experiences have been pretty similar to what I saw on those smaller hay fields I mentioned before. Closing the slot was always our biggest problem and as Jim said, my row cleaners won't do much in this situation. I have curve tines on my 38" planter, two on each unit. I may have to take them off and put one on each unit on our bean planter. Any other ideas and opinions welcome.
