Subject: RE: Turning pasture into row crop

Edgeley, ND
I know I will lose my no-till license for this reply but I have been in this situation before and have planted row crops with a notill planter and also tried a couple times to solid seed soybeans with an 1890 JD drill. I could always get the seed in the ground but closing the seed furrow was a real issue. My new plan is using a strip till machine to create that narrow strip of tilled soil while leaving the residue in place between the rows. Trying to get the best of both worlds
