Discount schedule is graduated, 15-20%= $.45 per bu, 20-25% =$.50 bu and 25-30% =$.60bu discount. 45+50+60= $1.55 per bu discount.
Price of corn does play a part in what the cost of shrink is. 1.2 % shrink @ $3 corn is 3.6 cents per point removal, $4 corn =4.8 cents point , $5 corn= 6 cents per point.
If it is costing 4 cents a point to dry $4 corn your cost would be 60 cents bu on 30% corn, add the 72 cents for shrink 60 + 72 = $1.32 bu. $1.55- $1.32 = $.20 bu savings for drying with your dryer. | |
