| I suspect we will see many more changes to everyone's discount schedules once this "train wreck" of a corn crop starts coming in. Most corn in this area is still 30+ %. Farmers in this area without drying capabilities might as well give the stuff away. These values include shrink, but take 30% corn... you are giving up 12 cents per point ($1.80) on your wet bushels. With a dryer, you are only shrinking 1.2% per point instead of 1.4% at the elevator, and I guarantee your "on the farm" drying cost is cheaper than what the elevators charge. Talk about paying for a dryer in a hurry!
