judythe, I think you hit on something positive worth noting about small parishes. It seems rural churches have a way of holding on in spite of the odds against them. My community like many others has lost both the post office and elementary school years ago. Someday I'm sure the church will be gone too but for now we support ourselves and do our part along with our sister churches to keep a pastor.
