Our church has a condolence committee made up of mostly retired ladies. The church foots the bill for them. They make roasts or sandwiches,mashed potatoes, salads, rolls, cakes, and have tea and soft drinks. If a really large crowd is expected the condolence committee will call on individual ladies in the church to make something as well.
